Overview

A vacancy has arisen for an Electrically biased experienced Engineer to join our dynamic Team. The successful candidate will work as part of a shift team working full time, onsite, to provide skilled support in matters relating to premises maintenance and machinery repair.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring plant equipment is operated and functioning in the correct manner.
  • Maintaining equipment on a daily basis to ensure it is fit for its intended purpose.
  • Ensuring appropriate housekeeping standards are maintained on a daily basis.
  • Continually developing to improve operations to drive improvements in quality, cost and safety.
  • Assisting production with machinery problems and setups, providing relevant training when appropriate.
  • Fault finding and diagnostics.
  • Following a PPM schedule and recording follow up work.

Qualifications

  • A BTEC/C&G in electrical/mechanical engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • An appropriate post-apprenticeship in food manufacturing or work experience in a food manufacturing environment would be of benefit.
  • Appropriate work experience in a similar role is essential.
  • Competent at working with electricity and conducting electrical work in a safe manner.
  • Experience problem solving and trouble shooting electrical issues.
  • Having 18th Edition training would be an advantage.
  • Excellent organisational skills with ability to plan workloads effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to solve engineering problems and make sound decisions to resolve issues.
  • Well developed interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail, commitment and the ability to accept responsibility are key in this role.

This role is based in a rural location with no public transport so having your own transport for work is essential.

 

Hours of work:

Rotating 9 week shift pattern consisting of Monday to Friday hours, with with 1 Saturday in 3 worked.
