Responsibilities

Meat Trimming:

  • Confidently trim and cut meat products within specified weight and thickness parameters, ensuring that all products meet quality, yield, and specification targets.
  • Use knives and other tools safely in accordance with company procedures, maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety.
  • Perform integrity checks on knives and associated personal protective equipment (PPE) before starting tasks.

Product Labelling:

  • Set up labelling machines and ensure proper alignment with product specifications, price sheets, date coding schedules, and allergen information.
  • Conduct regular label checks throughout production, ensuring accuracy in product identification and compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Complete and maintain process sheets, attaching necessary documentation at the end of production runs.

Machine Operation:

  • Operate and monitor various machines, including slicing, crusting, grinding, blending, forming, sealing, and labelling equipment.
  • Perform daily start-up and shut-down procedures, as well as routine maintenance, ensuring that all equipment is functioning efficiently and safely.
  • Achieve or exceed yield and throughput targets while maintaining consistent product quality.
  • Communicate any machine issues or raw material quality concerns to production management.

Qualifications

  • Experience within a manufacturing environment would be beneficial
  • Possess relevant IT literacy skills.
  • Clear understanding of English (written and spoken)
  • Willing to work in a temperature-controlled environment.
  • Ability to work efficiently under time constraints in a fast-paced setting.
  • Compliance with health and safety guidelines is essential
  • Competence in operating machinery and conducting routine maintenance after training
  • Ability to safely handle knives and sharp tools in compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with the production team and report issues.
