Overview

We are currently seeking to recruit a Yard Operative who to will be responsible for carrying out yard duties for our Retail site.

Responsibilities

  • Empty bins and tidy security hut and car park
  • Remove crates/pallets from outside shop and bring to the yard
  • Operate a forklift to empty bins into skips, load and unload lorries
  • Store and supply production with clean bins, trays and pallets
  • Remove bins and pallets of crates and packaging/ingredients from incoming lorries
  • Maintain the yard area and ensure it is kept clean and tidy
  • Wash plastic pallets / bring to cold store when required
  • Sort out stacks of blue and white pallets and sort
  • Make sure crate store is full of crates for production next day
  • Ensuring external doors are kept closed at all times when not in use
  • Maintain Health, Safety and Hygiene standards in accordance with Company rules and regulations

Qualifications

  • Previous experience of operating a forklift is advantageous
  • A Current Forklift license is desired, although not essential as training will be provided
  • Demonstrate the ability to work on your own initiative whilst working as part of a team striving to achieve high levels of customer service
  • Good communication skills are essential
