Overview

We are actively seeking applications from individuals keen to take up a career within one of Europe’s leading food processing companies - Dunbia UK, part of the Dawn Group. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established team, who have a desire to produce better food naturally.

This position works Monday to Friday, 5am to 1.30pm.

Responsibilities

  • Issuing knives, steel aprons and chainmail to operatives.
  • Sharpening of knives and stones using the guides and templates to ensure user safety at all times.
  • Ensure all knives and chainmail are properly washed and sterilised during breaks using appropriate equipment.
  • Ensure all knives, chainmail gloves/sleeves and aprons are properly washed at the end of the shift.
  • Work with departments to ensure any knives are re-sharpened at breaks when required.
  • Communicate with Managers and the Stores Team to issue and record new equipment.
  • Check and monitor all equipment (i.e. chainmail, hooks, bobbets, steels, aprons and knives) daily for damage, unserviceability or if it is likely to pose as a potential product contaminant, and either repair or dispose of as appropriate.
  • Maintaining accurate records of equipment.
  • Work to a ‘clean as you go policy’, ensuring the Knife Room area is kept clean and tidy at all times in line with the cleaning plan.
  • Promote and maintain Health, Safety and Hygiene standards by company rules and regulations.
  • Full compliance with all SOP’s.

Qualifications

  • Be able to follow work instructions and Company Procedures.
  • Be very health and safety conscious.
  • Have a flexible approach to work.
  • Have a commitment to quality, reliability and attention to detail.
  • Be willing to gain new skills and experience and undertake formal training.
  • Have the ability to work on own initiative whilst also working as part of a team.
  • Full training will be provided.
