Overview

The successful candidate will report to the Boning Hall Manager, and will be responsible for ensuring all Boning, Trimming and Packing is to the highest standard, maximising yield, whilst meeting production targets and customer specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring production targets, & KPI’s including yields, are met within deadlines, without compromising quality or control of costs.
  • Leading and motivating the team.
  • Driving continuous improvement through the introduction of new initiatives to improve quality standards, improve yields, and generate cost savings.
  • Accountable for Health and Safety of the Department, providing guidance and monitoring adherence to Safety Procedures and promoting a safety first culture.
  • Reviewing the performance of departmental staff, setting objectives, providing support and creating opportunities for their training and development, providing feedback and evaluating the effectiveness and performance improvement.
  • Managing employees effectively and addressing any issues that arise in a professional manner by ensuring legislative compliance and best practice at all times.
  • Maintaining good employee relations and promoting equality of opportunity.
  • Deputising for the Boning Hall Manager.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a Management Role, within a Boning Hall/Food Packing environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of beef processing on a large scale essential.
  • Strong focus on results, strong people management skills, experience of people development and employment legislation.
  • Will possess strong Leadership skills, be confident and committed and able to accept responsibility.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan workloads effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Well developed interpersonal and communication skills.
  • IT literate.
