Overview

We are seeking to recruit Quality Assurance professionals to join our busy team at our Cross Hands site. Reporting to the Quality Manager, you’ll support the business in the factory to ensure delivery of a best-in-class quality and safety process for the business. 

 

Working as part of a team in the factory, your primary duties are to perform a variety of quality assurance tasks including quality control inspections, testing and monitoring tasks to detect processing, manufacturing and other defects within a food production environment.   

 

You will provide a support function to the technical and operations team by carrying out relevant day to day checks as required by Company Policy in relation to food safety, quality, good manufacturing and hygiene practice and the adherence to product specifications.  Whilst undertaking this role you must ensure you comply with food safety, legality, quality and health and safety at all times.  

Responsibilities

  • Carrying out food safety and quality checks as dictated by company policy
  • Supporting the factory to ensure good manufacturing practice
  • Promoting, monitoring and reporting on good hygiene practice
  • Supporting the operations team to ensure compliance with product specifications 
  • Completion of in-process and finished product checks conducted at the work-station situated within the production processing departments
  • Collection and submission of end of shelf-life samples to the microbiology laboratory as per schedule daily.
  • Completion and storage of all relevant QA paperwork ensuring paperwork always remains up to date and legible.
  • Exception reporting where issues have been identified and ensuring appropriate corrective action is taken as required.   
  • Support with set-up and use of equipment required to undertake relevant checks 
  • Work in other roles which would not normally be in your charge in order to ensure that all departments are covered for holidays, absences and busy periods
  • Proper use and storage of issued PPE
  • Maintaining health, safety and hygiene standards in accordance with Company rules and regulations.
  • Continuously develop and undertake training throughout the department as and when required
  • Ensure all policies and procedures are adhered to 
  • Ensure all duties are completed
